The Insult Generator, pioneered by ASU engineering students in the Spring of 2007, was a program response to a very boring and dry basic C++ class. It was originally designed to run in the MS-DOS command shell, but soon that idea was abandon and was replaced by a .NET 2.0 Framework edition. The word generation alone took upwards of one semester and, when completed, included over 7000 possibilities for 2-section insults.
The library from which the program reads includes some of the most hilarious and obscure insult possibilities ever devised. Currently, there are 7 insult type libraries that can generate over 8000 possibilities in all; the libraries are updated and tweaked each time the program has a release to keep the quality insult standards high.
